    Sounds like a plan to me. Anyway you can get rid of the crushed coral all together and replace it with sand?

    dont wana remove my crushed coral, i have millions of pods living there... the 18hr light period in my refuge is really giving me a great amt of pod population, i never had before...

    No problem, just release that the CC could be a part of your algae problem.

    i dont like sand buch coz in highflow, it jus blows... plus i hate DSB, had a tank crash....

    Get your skimmer back up and going. Run carbon changing it out every 48 hours for a week. 1 cup per 20 gallons. Manually remove the algae... Imo.

    somuch carbon might kill my fishes, iv read tht before, ill increase my GFO i guess,im anyways going for ATS too soon, once im out of algae using h2o2 and gfo

    Do a search for sand vs. crushed coral, but the main issue is it can trap detritus, food, waste, etc. It requires higher maintenance to keep it clean vs. sand IMO.
