Peppermint Shrimp Babies... But No Daddy?

    i have had blue legs from the get go and have never seen them um?

    Ive had the same ones for about 8 months now and this is the first time I've seen it.

    I had blue legs for 4 years and never saw it until my current tank.

    So must be pretty rare. That's too bad cause it was so neat.

    I had the same thing happen, I have one cleaner shrimp and ended up with thousands of larvae in there. Thing is you only need one shrimp, they are able to fertilize their own eggs, hermaphrodite i geuss you could call them.

    Cleaner shrimp are hermaphrodites, but they don't fertilize their own eggs, they fertilize each other's eggs.

    Mobalized, I'm not sure it's all that rare, I just never had very good water conditions in my other 3 tanks (no sumps & bad husbandry back then). I've heard a lot of this happening in the past year in lots of people's tanks.

    And it appears a day or 2 ago that they had more babies. I just wish there was a way to keep the little guys alive.

    This is far fetched but anyway you can catch it and place it in your fuge?
