I don't really have too many inverts, there are a few snails, mostly all different species, hermits, and a peppermint shrimp. what are the chances any of these have shrimp like larvae'

They look a lot like mysis but this tank has been up for months and hasnt had any new live rock added, and when it was started it only had a tiny piece to seed it.

While I haven't found anything that specifically states that hermit larvae are "shrimp-like", they are, in fact, free-swimming. One other interesting note is that they mate in aquaria more than we realize- just that due to predation, the larvae rarely survive long enough to be seen. :)

Whatever they are, I think that's pretty cool.

Haha.. you got that right! ;)

They were EVERYWHERE last night before I flipped the lights on for the fish to eat them. Now there are just a few that made it to my sump and are kicking around in the water column. Wish they would survive so I can see what they are lol. They look a LOT like shrimp. I was wondering if the nutramar ova or something I feed somehow hatched HAHA doubtful.

From a little research it appears they are most likely blue leg hermit larvae.
