I cant wait to join the mantis club. I just picked up a 30g with a cpr aquafuge/skimmer w/ light from one of my fellow reefers. Momma bear got me on a budget so have to wait for payday for rocks/sand/powerheads to at least get water in it. lol.

Unfortunately my tank is small. I do want a larger one so I'm probably just gunna get a larger tank when it grows. I know all about budgeting. Well not really! My stunt loans just came in! Shopping time

what size biocube? Also i would recommend getting a gray colored PVC, as white reflects too much light into their hole IMO. My mantis dug his own hole though, as so far is fine with fish.

Mine seemed pretty easily trained. He only eats hermit crabs that are dropped in front of his den. Coincidently my CUC is 6 ceriths and 4 astreas.

Schackmel had a nervous damsel. While cleaning the tank, it swam into Bob's (which turned out to actually be a female peacock) den. That upset him (her) to no end and said damsel was uncerimoniously captured in it's raptorial appendages and thrown out of the den....embarassed, but unharmed.

My firefish occasionally gets spooked and swims into the mantis's den, the mantis chases him out, but has never hit him.
