    U got it.
If u changed the way it is now and t'd back to the sump it would be working at full capacity. The way u have it now is actually better for the pump.

    DD,

Want to sleep better, or go away and be confident you won't come back to SW on your floor?

I am really into DIY overflows, HOB's, Intank overflows, etc.
That's not why I'm posting on your thread.
** I"m not selling anything, not do I work for them!!
I'm just trying to help you out, with cheap but dependable insurance of no floods.

I can help you big time!!

B/C I too have siphon style overflows, I wanted some insurance- w/o having to purchase an exspensive controller with floats, etc.

Please, for your insurance at preventing any possibility of a flooded floor with a siphon style overflow, please look at my thread with the catchy title that I'm adding the link to.

The product is in the first post, and it works AWESOME- flawless.

It does require you cutting the power and turning it back on again, once the problem is fixed.
I searched for weeks until I found a good, cheap, dependable product.
I think it cost me about 70 bucks.

I like that, Todd...and it can be added pretty invisibly, depending on your setup.

Exactly! NOthing sticks down in the water like a float in your DT.

I have mine on a simple homemade holder that I think was the handle or a broken plastic spatula!
It's in the back, covered by the canopy, and no-one knows it's there.

It's a One Time purchase, of INSURANCE!!

    I'm telling ya

And I'm glad you were able to catch yours before it flooded btw

Personally, I think there's a problem with your overflows themselves- could hapopen anytime- get some insurance! Not the fix the flood kind, the prevent it kind!

Yes, I am all about learning from my mistakes but i think a flood is not a good mistake. I'm glad that I know the sounds that my tank makes. I also think its my overflow, the standpipes arent allowing the flow that I am putting to the tank. its got 2 1 1/2" u-tubes so I know it should be able to keep up with the flow. I'll get there. Slowly but surely.

    thanks for the Insurance.

Well that was a big bummer. At least they looked good. They were too large. 1 1/4" piping is too large for my 9" wide by 12" tall overflow. I even made a set out o 1" piping but Home Depot did not have the correct 90's so I used the standard. That made them too wide. Maybe Ivan find them at anothe Home Depot. I spent a lot of time trying different configurations and nothing worked that was quiet enough. So I went back to the hoffer gurgle busters. I think I might have them set up correctly now but I will have to monitor the dt volume to know for sure. I hope I got it right this time.
