I am in the process of changing a FOWLR to a reef tank.

I want to get these lights for my 72inch 125 gallon tank.

    The 72" is over 800$

If I just get two 36"-48" sets couldn't I cover the same tank for about half the price of the 72" unit?

Would the PAR be different for the smaller sets than the large one?

I need LEDs because my aquarium is in my FL room under air with a chiller but still I don't need Amy extra heat.

    Thanks guys.

Also are there any suggestions on a less expensive LED system that may work for me?

All I have now is a Duncan btw. And I am using some old rusty STARK LEDs that I got from a LFS and only the blue LEDs work lol

I took down my T5 system it was just too hot.

I don't have any personal experience, but I would think it's the same. There are other brands that recommend mixing a variety of smaller fixtures, so if it works for them ...
