    Still kicking and growing, although slower in the summer under higher temps.


    The Christmas Acropora aka Millepora frags, still great growth as well.

    nice your SPS are really taking off :) I ended up breaking my red planet into 3 pieces to put in different areas in the tank... Down low its green with red tips, in the middle of the tank its a little bit of green at the base and red the rest of the way. Up high its all red

    are u saying they grow faster at lower temps? what temp do you typically run?

    Yep it does the same here. Lower green, under the most intense it looses all the green is primarily bright red/pink.


    This is my first summer without a chiller. Ambient room temp is 78 with AC. Tank gets around 82-84 even with fans. I noticed a big drop off in growth and use of Ca and Alk, the coral growth just came to a stand still with temps over 80 F.

    Lost a few sps unfortunately oh well.

    Any who things should return to normal with the return of cooler temps. It runs about 100 F every day in August. :(

    thats pretty warm. mine never gets above ambient. what do you think is heating up your tank? lighting?

    Yeah lighting/pumps and volume of water. Need a bigger tank which is in the works.

    Oh yeah that will fit right to my house and financial arrangements, I wish. :)
