i dump half of my normal fish dinner in then wait 10-20 mintues. then dump the rest of the food in. this lets the brain know its time to eat. now most of the time the feeders are out between 6-9 which is when i feed the fish. it always gets a chuck or 2. it will every swell up around flake food that falls on it. not sure if it actually eats it but it looks like it does.

mine has been kinda out of sorts since the move this weekend

P.s. mine is super puffy at night. does that mean the tentacles are out?

Yes, if it is puffy, I bet feeders are out. These big LPS are fun to feed.

Very, very likely that they are. If they're vertical-puffy, that is. Some brains also puff out horizontally during the day to catch more light. The one in the 2nd picture does this. I think it's because it's a lower-light brain than the other. The one in the 2nd picture is metallic, and the first is pastel. From what I've read, the metallic ones generally come from deeper waters, so they make themselves wide to get light.

And yes, my brains love to eat lol. They'll each take 5-6 mysis at once, and move them to the mouth one at a time.

Cool. Mine puffs up and shrinks to about half its day time size.

Yep, that's it getting ready to catch food at night. Did you check it out yet?

Cool! I always wondered why it got so small. I'll try to feed tonight! I still have my lights on. I'm a night owl and my fish are on my night owl schedule, so they don't get lights out 'til midnight. :)
