He is showing zero posts because this is Dr. Tim's section of the forum which doesn't count toward his posts. Please allow Dr. Tim to share his expertise with the O.P. as I am pretty sure this is why they posted in this section.Steno good luck you are in good hands here.

Steno1911 - have you ever tested your freshwater that you use to make-up the seawater (edit - ok, i see earlier you said it was clean) and have you ever tested the seawater once you make it up but before it goes on the tanks?

is the tank water clear or cloudy does it smell?

    Dr. Tim,

I made a gallon of mixed saltwater last night and tested the parameters.

Everything checked out. No ammonia. or Nitrite was present.

The tank water is clear with the exception of a few microbubbles here and there.

The water/tank does not have any kind of smell to it.

    Would adding LR help any?

Is there any chance some of this shrimp is still in the tank? Under the sand bed maybe?

I mean it is possible, but I highly doubt it. I had placed the shrimp in a nylon bag and let it float around.

If what you're saying has happened, does that mean I would have to take everything out and re-wash the sand and all in RO/DI water and start over??

Because at this point, thats what Im about ready to do. Not yet, but very close. Even though everyone says you dont have to start over...

I don't think you need to remove everything - you can 'wash' the sand using a gravel washer which will also result in a water change. Do another big water change combined with the cleaning the sand and let's see where that ends up.

    Touche...;D

I will wash the sand out and do another big water change. I will post results later this week.

I will add nothing again, except for the coral pro salt.

Dr. Tim... can I use LR with your one and only?? If so, how would I go about doing so.
