Are they considered a pest, and is there anything that can get rid of them?

inwall, it's on the back side of a rock, and that's all I can see. The pictures of the ball anemones are very similar to what I saw tho.

They're only out at night as well... would i see the body in the light, or can the entire anemone retract into the rockwork?

Thanks for the help, so far I'm going with possible Ball anemone.

Pretty sure it's not a barnacle, deff not a majano... doubt it's a proper coral...

I'll see if I can get my camera focused on it tonight with a flashlight. It doesn't hide when I light it up, just don't see it out in the lights during the day.

    Thanks!

Look up cup corals. The tentacles sort of resemble one.

Not really. They don't reproduce fast. The only problem is when they get really large as they can give fish a pretty good sting.

They are non-photosynthetic so they will usually come out at night at first. However, after months of time in your aquarium, they will open during the day too.

Yes, they can get quite small and disappear into the rockwork.

Ok, almost certain it's a Pseudocorynactis caribbaeorum Caribbean Ball Anemone, based on the pictures and description here:

    http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/oct2002/invert.htm

it's a corallimorph, not a true Anemone. It's light sensitive, and what I could see looks just like the pictures.

...will keep an eye on it, maybe it will grow and come out more.
