I just got finished reading the posts on using CLR to clean the inside of a old tanks, but I was wondering if anyone has ever used a clay bar? They are used to polish cars before waxing. I would assume they would be nontoxic. I recently watched a Youtube video on super cleaning car windshields and that was what they used. Any thoughts?

Clay is great for car windows as a first step. Followed by a glass polish. I can't imagine any reason not to use clay and polish on aquarium glass

Actually I meant using a clay bar on the inside.

Yes, I believe it would be safe to use clay on the inside to remove water spots and other debris. But you would want to follow it with a lightly abrasive glass polish. I was referring to the inside when I responded before. Is this a glass aquarium?

Yes, it's been used as a freshwater for the last 5 or 6 years.
