I have a horrible feeling that this guy is a mantis shrimp. Noticed him today hanging under a rock. This is the best picture I could get.

+3 on the porcelain, if its not that, its some other filter feeder invert. Definetly not a mantis.

Do those crabs make any clicking sounds, have heard it from time to time and when I saw the little guys head sticking out from under the rock I assumed it was either a pistol or mantis shrimp.
I may take out the rock and see if I can get a better picture of him, mind you I haven't seen a porcelain crab before so if everyone is sure its one of those maybe I should just leave it where it is.

Porcelain crab! Mantis shrimp are not filter feeders... This crab has maxillipeds(feathery appendages) used to capture tiny plankton etc. from the water column!

The color is what makes me think its not a porcelain, there are several other crabs that have maxillipeds, porcelains are not the only ones.

I can't really tell but it doesn't look like a mantis from that pic, mantis have bulging eyes and hold there claws inward towards their body. How many clicks are u hearing, my pistol will make multiple consecutive clicks, he's tiny but definitely a pistol...rarely see him but he's got the shrimp body, eyes, and one larger claw. You will hear a pistol more often than see it. Get a flash light(better if it's red) and take a look at night, you will see amazing things going on in the tank with a flash light. An LED flash light is good too, doesn't cast too much light so it doesn't "scare" thing away.
