I don't get the PC bashing. My wife's PC has been running without a single issue for 4+ years now. Not one single issue. And the PC before it ran for 6 without a single issue, but I replaced it 4 years ago as a 1ghz Celeron with 256mb ram was just too slow for the software of 4 years ago. I still have that computer today, but keep it as an emergency backup. And it still runs perfectly, just slow.

PC's are great! just very temperamental and testy!IMO. In all due respect, that computer of yours sounds REALLY slow! and old! not too often ya see performance measured in mb's

Slow isn't the word. Sloooooooooooow is, but if I ever need to get some files off the internet to repair a PC (if mine ever fails), it still can do the job. Just not much good for anything else.

Macs can be a good choice too. I have no use for their best functions (music and/or video editing), so I stick with PC (I game and use the internet mostly). If I was into the aforementioned editing, I would give a Mac a shot. My friend is in a local band, and swears by his Mac for music editing. After listening to him tell me about it's performance capabilities for music editing, I have to agree that it was a wise choice.
