Yeah, I was supposed to try the local reefers recipe, as he had samples. But I forgot to pick up the sample he had for me.

So, what do you think your cost savings over say rods reef is?

Rods is great IMO but too much coral food... I think there is too much small particles in there... Even though I have quite a few SPS in my tank I still use the Fish only formula then add some extra nori I tear up.

i just made some with a slightly different recipe and used the egg crate and works grate nice uniform pieces. the fish went nuts and all the corals were fully open all afternoon. next time instead of using a large piece of egg crate im going to use several small ones cut to fit in glad bags and just store them in the egg crate and pop them out as i use them.

What are you using for Vitamin-c?

Drugstore pills of ascorbic acid? Maybe a splash of Simply Orange?

I just went to the store and bought most of the ingredients.

    I blend tomorrow!

you can also water it down slightly, heat it up to activate the gelatin and then suck it up with a turkey baster. Then you can squirt it into ice water and it will form little balls like peas. You can pop these in the freezer and take out what you need and toss em in the tank. A little different recipe than I used but great idea!
