    With clams that big, you will never have to worry about a nitrate problem lol! Mine is only 3" long now and it's a baby.

    So what kind of growth rates can you expect from clams???

    mine has grown about < 1/2" in the last 6 months. They are extremely slow to grow. I keep my Ca levels around 480 with it in the tank, along with 1500 Mg and 14KH.

    I would say that most clams are actually pretty fast growers.
