When I first set up the unit I was running around 2.5:1 now I have trimmed the capillary tube all the way down with just a nub and I am still only at 3.8:1 and the water that is coming in is icy cold. 80psi. tds 0. Is this 3.8:1 going to be a issue? Anything I can do?

I know its close but I think the .8 is generous might really be like.5 and when summer comes won't that number decrease more?

Also the 90 degree coupling that comes off the ro filter for waste water is sucking air causing a hissing noise whenever water is flowing

3.5-3.8 to 1 is certainly close enough for now. It's your combination of very high pressure and very low temperature that puts us off the chart for a typical installation. Yes, next summer you might want to re-check it. We can talk again then about what to do.

The fitting can't be sucking air with 80psi present. There is probably an air bubble in the membrane housing. While the water is running, rotate the whole system 90 degrees so the blue and yellow tubes on the membrane housing are pointing up and let the air bubble find its way out and down the drain. It may be making some noise, but it's not hurting anything.

Sounds good on the ratio. The coupling is most definitely causing the issue, turned unit 90 degrees same issue present. Running finger around coupling where waste line enters causes change in sound, also small drip of water coming from where hose seats into coupling. Going to home home depot to buy new one.

I changed the fitting, still had the same hissing plus water slowly seeping from the coupling. Pushed hose directly into the ro coupling (not the 90) hissing moved to that connection, I believe the problem is coming from the capillary seating against the o-ring inside.

So, this is all happening on the waste water line? The collar of the capillary tube should sit well past the o-ring inside the fitting, if the tube is properly inserted as far as it can go.

Yes this is the waste line, and I can only speculate the cause but it must be the line/capillary itself since no matter what I seat it into I have the same issue. It is definitely all the way in. system is working great though other then that.

I'm stumped as to what must be the problem. 80psi is at the high end for pressure, and may be making a sound as it is squeezed throught the flow restrictor, but I don't have anyone else with 80psi reporting this problem. I hope you can live with it until we can get some more clues.
