I fed my maxima clam that was less than 3" phyo for a few weeks. I noticed some cyano as a result so I stopped. The clam is doing fine. It lives on the sandbed under T5s and is growing well. I feed Rod's Food every other day.

Did you let it touch air? It should not be removed from the water. Atleast that is what I have been told. I really don't understand the exact reasoning because I have removed clams used as food from water and they have been fine.

I thought my boss was full of it, but I decided to just humor him.

My clam still hasn't fully came out yet, I have had it for about 3 days now. What could be wrong? Also how long does it take for it to attach his foot?

well they wont really move per se. they may twist or turn to get the flow they want. does the mantle retract back into the clam if your hand or anything goes near it? can always try it in another spot if foot isnt set.

Ohh, And yes the mantle does retract really quickly when I wave my hand at the top of my tank.
