    Dear All,

    Myself am Ravi from India this is ma first post in here I have had a good experience in fish keeping I had Marine and Flowerhorn so far never tried Planted tank so am here now for help from you guys.

    I need some experts advice on my plans of starting on a Planted FW tank this is ma first one so need some suggestions and here is what I have as a base:
    Tank: 60cms L x 45cms H x 36cms B
    Lights: 40 W x 2 (Blue & White color)
    Filtering: 1200 L/H Power head
    Have plans to build a CO2 generator using the raw materials @ home.
    Aeration: double nozzle Air pump


    Plans:

    Please suggest me the best and easily available Soil & Plants.

    I am planning to have these Fish added: Neon Tetras, Tiger Barbs, Danios, Blue Rams, Dwarf Gouramis, Few Corydoras, Few Shrimps, and my favorite Killifish.

    Please Suggest me with your best Ideas which can help me build a best one will definitely post the progress pics in here.

    Welcome to 3reef

    Use white bulbs only, the blue is the wrong spectrum for plants.
    No need to aerate as that will cause the CO2 to leave the tank.
    Eco-complete would be a good substrate at a depth of 5 to 8 cms.
    Plants Cryptocorynes and Anubias are low light and easy plants. Tiger Lillies are a nother good one. Hygrophila, Rotala and Ludwigia are all relatively easy plants that would do well under your lights.
