    Hey Joer, If you can put the four in now. ive got 3 400w MH and by the end of the day temps gone up 4 degrees to 82 not bad but summers not quite here yet so im going to go w/2 more before heat kicks in

    im only going to have 2 250w and 2 VHO or PC strips but i guess 4 cant hurt. Also my LFS says i dont need a plastic guard between the bulbs and the water and you guys say the same thing about the MH lights but what about the fluorescent lights.

    ok thanks. glad because i figure the light would look better w/o the plastic. was just a little worried, i know the water in new york has shards of glass in it but if i wasn't looking to reproduce NY water. i guess if i was i would also have to put an old tire, a plastic bag, styrofoam cup, and an old syringe in my tank too. LOL

    Not to get too off track, but I know of somebody in NY with a tank like that! He has broken bottles in his. heh.

    First one is too much money and uses the old style bulbs. Second one is ok if you are a DIY guy but comes with crap bulbs and no reflector.

    Look at some of the threads in the lighting board and the links page for more ideas.

    thanks Matt.  i looked at the other treads i came across this link MH lights   or this (under the retrofit systems the 4' 2 MH/PC set up w/ the icecap 175w ballest upgrades)MH lights 2
