This thread is to see who have nano tanks,
And also to help someone to start a nano tank. If you have any questions post them, and I will try to help. If I don’t know I’m sure someone will help

If you have a nano tank, what helps you to keep it running?
Starting a new nano tank tell us your progress.

    I have a 10-gallon nano.
I have a current USA light, it a 2 bulb light, one 24 watt 10000k, one 24 watt actinic, 48 watts total.
Hob filter rated for a 20-gallon aquarium, 70 gph (I use it to trap particles in the water, and for more water movement),

And a diy refugium about 200 gph, with mangroves, and chaeto
    .

About 15 lbs. Of rock, and about one inch of crushed coral in the tank.
I use instant ocean salt mix,
    I do a one-gallon water change once a week.

    I have a cinnamon clownfish,
    One peppermint shrimp,
    One condy anemone,
    And two small corals.

Sounds like a nice tank. I set up a 3 gal pico tank for my daughter and me tonight. I was going to wait until tomorrow but Robman posted his and it looked so nice I couldnt wait.

    I personally like small tanks.
Just about the only fish I like are clownfish (there are a couple other fish I like, but manly clownfish)
And my plan for my tank is to get a rose bubble tip anemone, and let split and cover the tank ;D

Daily top offs and dosing like clockwork keeps mine in good shape. I also think having a good sump fuge system makes it much easier to keep things under control. Having the ability to devote at least 1/2 hour a day to keep things in prime shape is key IMO.

    Specs:
    30 gallon very long DT
10 gallon three chambered fuge system with mangroves, chaeto and caleurpa
    20 gallon long sump

Coralife 125 skimmer running dry during day light hours
small skimmer running dryish 24 hours
(I like this system because it leaves some gunk in the water for coral to feed on at night, but clears the water nicely for the photo period)

    30lbs. sand
    40lbs. live rock
MP10 pump (run in wave mode 24 hours)
    250 watt hqi halide
    96 watt pc over fuge

Here's a couple of articles I have up about nano's:

Good idea for a thread. I hope it takes off.

The key to keeping a reef tank is an understanding of your available time and budget. I keep a nano because I am broke. In exchange I give time in the form of weekly water and filter changes, daily rock cleanings, and careful spot feedings for every bite of food introduced.

Specs and pictures of my tank can be seen on the first posting found by following the link in my signature.

    New addition to my nano.

I have been colleting mangrove pods, and trying to sell them.
Today I went to a lfs, and they traded 2 emerald crabs, for 12 pods;D.
I am trying to sell the pods for $1 ea. So I got more than I was expecting;D.
They asked for my name and number, so when they needed more they would call me.:biggrinbo
Maybe the crabs will help with the hair algae in my nano,

C’mon theirs got to be more people with nano tanks.
Also if you are starting a new nano, or already have one, post some pics.

I don’t like to force people to comment, but think about the people who are starting their first nano, or are just now getting starting in the saltwater hobby.
    Don’t you want to help?

I have a condy anemone to.
I’m also going to get a rose bta.
I’m not familiar with biocubes, how many watts are the lights,
And how deep is the tank?
