So I have a shipment of coral/mushrooms arriving by FedEx tomorrow (Tuesday) and I was just looking over the tank when I noticed this guy..

This tank is new with no corals or mushrooms so I have no clue if it will damage something or not at this point. After many years in this hobby I have never seen one before so my question and concern is...

    1. what kind of snail is it?
    2. is it reef safe?

It is in a 14gal little 'reef' project I set up in the bedroom. It is the size of a small marble, a little smaller than a red legged hermit. I don't see it 'cleaning' anything as it hardly moves at all. I assume it came in on one of the newer pieces of LR I added a while back.

Should I yank it out or let it ride?

    Thanks for any info.

Sounds good. Thanks for the quick replies. Now I can get back to worrying about it being 33 degrees when my shipment is suppose to arrive.

Any good shipper will use heat packs and styrofoam, and it won't be a problem.

I actually just shipped some of these guys today, and expect all 12 to arrive just fine.

I would think so as well but here in south Texas it doesn't get this cold but a handful of times a year. Of course it ships during a cold spell. We shall see what happens.
