    Thanks for the reply/thoughts.

Some of the tips, some middle, etc.

No change in lights. I'm using LED's. I actully moved it down several inches when it started happening.

This is a bad experience, but will be OK if it stops here.

    So, params are:

    API nitrate and phos- 0
API Alk now up to 10 (was over a few days)
    Mg- 1440
    Ca- 440

    API Ph- 8.3ish
    Temp 80F

So far, Valydia holding its own. Green slimer seems the same.
    Fish seen very happy

I cut off all the white areas I could get to off the Valydia today, and even fragged to of the pieces.
I'm keeping a close eye on the white areas on my big green slimer/acro too!

Did a 10g WC today too.

    Another 5g WC today.

I went to a friends house last night and he tested his ALK with his API test kit and got a reading of 9. He says he has typically gotten this same result when he tests weekly, but he cant keep SPS happy. So I then tested his ALK with a Hanna checker and it was 6.8.

I strongly suggest if you want to keep acropora you need to ditch the API test kits and get a hanna checker phosphates and Alkalinity.

Or even take it into a LFS and request them to double check your parameters. I don't know if best fish will use something other than API, I've never had them test my water. It's a small step to eliminate a factor in your interrogation.

I have the red sea alk/cal/mag tests and would be happy to bring them by sometime if you want a simple comparison test. I know we talked about getting norg and someone else together. We could all do a myriad of tests!!! Talk about party time!

Todd. How are the corals doing? I have a few now that are burning St the tips too. But my alk is at 7.8 as of tonight. My calcium was way high though. Over 500. Mag was high too. Phosphate was .12 yesterday and my nitrates were 10. They are going down naturally. I have cut off my calcium reactor for the time being to lower the calcium and I am dosing alk to keep it in acceptable range.
