    I too, already had both, an Osmolator and an Apex... It's crazy not to do this diy if you have both! I love the osmolator, you actually introduced me to that as well, lol.

    Also, removing the fitting and standard tubing that comes with the pump gives you the ability to use a 1/2" tubing and can move a good bit more water. (I just figured this out and it's helped me with my 225g water volume) Now I am back to running it once a day and getting 2.5 gallons out and back in within the time!)

    Let me see if I can get this...

    l---> pump ---> freshwater
    Tunze Osmolator --> l switch to determine which pump is on/being used
    l---> pump --> new saltwater for WC

    1. Timer turns FW ATO for determined time it takes to remove/add SW.
    2. Chosen water volume is removed from the tank/sump by using pump
    3. New SW is added to tank/sump to replace what was removed.
    4. Timer turns FW ATO back on.

    How is a third pump not required for adding new SW to the tank for the WC?

    You got it dead on.

    A third pump is required, It's used to pump the water out of the sump into the garbage, it can be any kind of pump. The key to this is these pumps can all pump at different flow rates and it doesn't matter.
