my tank is still cycling

    the amonnia level was at 2.0 the 2nd day of my cycle the live rock was out of water for less then 1 minute i put it in a bucket of water i live 30 min from the guys house that gave it to me. i didnt have any die off from the rock.

    well yes ya did LOL. you did have die off from the rock but only on a microscopic lvl since it wasnt a mature tank and thats what will cause the ammonia lvls to rise and begine your cycle

    the levels havent changed sicne i put the rock in the tank so if i did have die off it was very little

    You said that your levels have risen from .5 to 1 in the past 2 weeks, which happens to be since you put the rock in. That means your levels changed, right?

    Is it normal to have ammonia of .5 to 1 in a cycled tank? No.
    Invest in a test kit (not strips that are inaccurate) and test it that way, see if the readings are different.

    i said levels havnt gone down in 2 weeks not that they went up. the amonnia test is a drop test that i got from my lfs a month ago.

    Do a water change and wait it out. Let everything settle and check the levels in a few days.
