tank looks great. and your water is crystal clear! nice! i noticed on the other thread you were running a bubble magnus on that. do you use a sock also? or any other filtration?
my tank is similar in size ( 24 by 24 by 14 high). and i have been debating which skimmer to by. problem is if i use a larger skimmer i wont be able to get to the sock. i was told i could remove the sock. if i get a good skimmer. is that so?

Wow! This tank has come a long way in short order. Keep up the good work Matt.

    Thanks Mike! I'll keep truckin!

LoL! Hehe Well I did add fish very slowly, but I admit, this summer I went a bit nuts with frags! Some of the coral on the ends is old, but in between is pretty new. But now I am DONE and back to slow to let it grow. ;) :)

LEDs would probably work nice on this tank. The trick is just mounting. You don't want to close this top in. That would be blasphemy with this tank. That said, I love halides, just had to find the right height which took some experimentation and time.

Good to know. Thanks!! In that case, it should grow tall over that rock, then get hit with a blast and get denser I imagine.

I do use the sponges in the overflows and sump that came with the tank. I periodically rinse them out. I love the Bubble Magus skimmer. It works great.

Thanks all for the support! I have a water change scheduled for this weekend and plan on tweaking the light a bit... I'll try to take better pics with my HD vid camera too.

hum you have me thinking now that i can do away with that annoying sock (has to be cleaned weekly and is a pain to get clean) once i get a good skimmer in place. since i also have a sponge in my over flow that catches most food and so on. the sock seems to grab the smaller things in the water. it clogs weekly from what it collects.
but on the plus side all is still reading zero ( ammonia/ nitrites/ nitrates) if i can achieve that with out a sock i would be a happy girl. :)

    Thanks Kacy!

I took some better shots of my Neo Nano aquarium with my Sanyo HD video camera with the water off. Big difference!

    Hey Matt,
How are you liking the Neo Nano overall? Any performance issues or design quirks?
I'm picking up a drilled 180G this weekend but I eventually wanna spring for a Neo in the bedroom. :jester:

I love my Neo Nano. It is a well-thought out design. The only 'quirk' I can think of is actually just an FYI - the baffles in the sump dictate what size skimmer you can fit in there. My Bubble Magus NAC6 fits perfect, but I had to do my homework. Not sure about a bed room tank unless you have a big bedroom - not that it is very loud - but it is open-top, so humidity plays into it. That said, I really, really love it. Get the optional drain kit that comes with the hoses precut - the $30 is worth it to just hook it all up and turn it on in my book.

They are man! Get one! Marine Depot had free shipping a while back - not sure about now though..
