Yeah it tends to build up in the center of the tank in between the rocks. I siphon it out during water changes occasionally.

Any know the latin name for this coral? I bought it from WT as a colony, accidentally broke it in pieces trying to get the base off and now it has grown back together. The colors are fantastic.

Biocube has a piece very similar to this called a Smoke frag with a pic in his build thread. I believe page 59. Do you both have the same camera? Cause those photos are sick!! : )

I'm happy to hear that you are loving your light combo. Also, about the acro... It's a gorgeous stag but there are way too many species that it could be. Sorry I am not of more help

The other one that is purple with green polyps is probably A. valida

Thanks Nooze. :) It's definitely going the right direction now.

I drip kalk at least a couple weeks a month. Trying to do every day but I get behind on mixing it lately. Going to pick that up a bit.

    I'll check that out. THanks!
My camera is a Nikon 5100. I still don't know what I am doing and shoot in auto mode. I hope to learn more when I can put 2 seconds together.

THanks Trent. I think you nailed it with valida. I recall that name in the email when I ordered a batch.

As for another, I posted a pic on a WT INC thread and they think I have:
    Tenuis Acropora Coral

Looks similar but that one in the pic is a lot denser than mine. Could be though.

    As for a tank update....

Essentially the same. Did a water change last week. Need to prune my chaeto. Replace my halide when it gets here in the mail. And my UV bulb.
Very excited to install a Reef Angel controller when I get time alone. Things are growing. My light is at 12 inches. I think after they adjust to the new bulb I will lower it to 10 inches.

Perhaps before that I will get some more coral to fill a couple spots out. I think just 3 more pieces in the right spots will really balance my tank out nice. Can't wait!

    New pics

A little update... things are going well... just picked up some new coral.
A purple stylo, a couple birds nest and a montipora undata.
I am taking a camera class and finally learning to use my Nikon 5100. These were all taken in manual mode. :) (actinics off/auto white balance)

Beautiful shots and corals Matt. Have fun with the camera now that you have taken some classes. You should be able to enjoy it much more.
