Thanks to the both of you for the replies. :) I am planning my Rapid LED build for a tank (about a 6 months-1 year ahead), and am trying to keep costs down. It will be about $400, so I guess I will go with the Typhon controller so I can run multiple timing strings.

    -Royal Blue
    -Cool white
    -Red
    -UV
possibly some moon lights - what color are they?

What size tank do you have??

Id buy another driver (750 mA) to run your UV & Colored LEDs, and keep your white & blue LEDs separate.

I bought the 4 LED moon kit from Rapid and I ended up installing two and that alone was way to bright!

About 15 gallons. :p The dimensions are very odd.

Each color will be on its own driver to allow for full spectrum dimming.

So the moonlights are white (like the moon should be) and not actinics?

moon lights are blue! Sorry biocube(he loves them);) but with the typhon controller ya can control your blues and get the same effect! I have my blue fade out over 2 hours and the last hour is like a dimming moonlight effect! Then if ya want, just switch it to custom and turn your blues on at like 15% and ya have the same effect! AWEsOME controller for $54!

Ah, good idea. Screw the moonlights and just run the blues at the lowest %. :)

    haha. Not a problem.

Occasionally I come across a tank that has white moonlights. The Neptune Systems Aqua Controller Jr. Lunar Simulator has this, for example.

Thats my theory, i just extend the fade time to forever to get that effect! The only bad thing is, is if ya wanna use your main blues for the effect on demand is you'll have to go to the controller and manually reprogram it! Not a big deal, but something to consider instead of just dropping $50 more bucks for a moonlight kit!
