My new clam

    When they are smaller, they just need to be manually fed more often is all, just like PL mentioned earlier. I am keeping my Ca levels in the 460-480s now to get it to grow its shell. :)
    As long as you keep those things in mind and have proper lighting, it's not too hard. (sarcastic laugh) hehe.

    I put him on a small rock and he seems to be doing really well. He is still very vibrant and opens nicely. My maroon knocked him over last week and ripped the few byssal threads that were attached to the rock. I can only hope that no serious damage was done and that the clam sucked in its byssal gland before it was knocked over.

    Thanks! Great read. My phyto is worthless now, as of last week, so I haven't added any phyto into my tank since last Wednesday. I need to see how clams reproduce. I am seeing a few tiny shells (like 1mm in size) in my tank. They looks like tiny clams/bivalves that are on the very bottom of the tank walls. They may also be some baby hermits as well, time will tell. Either way, I'm stumped as to what they are.
