a croecea and maxima

 

the maxima would be better as they require less light.

 

i was thinking of getting a green and blue maxima there about 1.5" each. there very pretty too. Now i have a corcea clam thats about 5" long and it's pretty cool. I've never had a maxima because they get so big but this one is small, for now. do they all get like 12" across. do they grow fast.

 

If your successfully keeping the Crocea, you should be able to keep a maxima. When are you going to upgrade lighting HL? The clams will grow alot faster under the MH.

when i save enought money to buy them, the biggest expense will be the ballast. i'm looking for a used dual 250 MH ballast. I have enought to buy one 250 MH pendant. i have to wait until i get the other one and the ballast. i'm gonna have 500 watt of MH. i figured it would cost about $430. Do clams grow fast in general.

 

how long would it take a 1" maxima to get 12" under MH lighting.

 

I don't know exactly, but as Da colts said Maximas grow pretty slow. You need to find someone who has had a maxima for a few years and see how long they've had it, how large it was at purchase, and how large it is now. Go to the gallery and find somebody with a large one.
