yes by looking at the shape of the shell and the lack of scutes, yours is absolutley a crocea. it is a nice one as it seems to really extend the mantle.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful!! Absolutely Beautiful! What more can I say? Your whole tank looks great!

Looks like you have some pretty good sized clams also.

Colts, are you getting your clams locally at a FS, or online and having them shipped? I've been window shopping at:

    http://www.clamsdirect.com

and was curious if you have purchased from them or if you trust buying livestock from mail order places.

Beamer, fabulous extension on that mantle! Love the color as well!

Does your clam have the same appearance HL14?

kind of except mines more blue from the side and then it turns green if you look from the top.

i was thinking of buying another clam i saw for about $35 on ebay. it's very pretty but i'm afraid it will lose it's colors w/ my PC light. the one that i have now is kind of less brightly colored. If it does lose it's colors would they come back w/ stronger light. Would a clam survive 2 days w/out light. that's how long it takes to ship w/ the priority mail.

a clam will probably be fine for 2 days without light. what kind of clam is it?
