I have a clam (don't know if its maxima or crocea) under 4x 96 watt PC. I keep it at the top and it is beautiful. My tank is a 120 gl existing tank that I bought a few months ago. The tank is actually around 2 yrs old. The previous owner could not remember what kind of clam it was. After I got it set up the clam kept falling off, no matter where I put it. I finally put it back on top somewhat wedged between a couple of rocks. He seems to be very happy there.

    Good luck with yours!

croceas have a more round shell and less pronounced scutes(the ridges on the side of the clam) maximas have a more elongated shell and usually have very pronounced scutes.here is a pic of 1 of my croceas

hi everyone, I've had my clam now for about 3 weeks now and it's doing fine under my PC's. It's retaining it's color and it's healthy.
