The second two strainers look fine, IMO. I wouldn't recommend siliconing them in place, as from time to time you might want to clean them and I personally find it easier to pop the strainer off, clean it and put it back.

Hey guys jus aquascaped and added sand, obviously the waterlevel will rise once i start circulating water from sump to tank. Also water is a bit milky since i took the pic pretty fast after i aquascaped. Is the lr enough? Internal filter is temperary, also have to add a wm since the old 1 has suction cups and doesnt stay well. But the other one is hydor with magnets, so will keep tht.

its a matter of personal taste.....maybe when you will have fully topped it off you'll think it will need more or less rock..... I like to keep in mind what species of fish i plan in keeping.... providing more "open water" space for the roamers... or more hiding/ tunnels for the smaller shier fish species....

its unavoidable but try to make sure you have some circulation in the rock work to avoid dead spots where food can "rot" but dont break your head trying to figure out a way to get water movement in every crook and cranny of the rock work your cleanup crew will break down un eaten food and more so if they feel protected by the rockwork
