How much rock are you planning to add? If it is a bit, you can always stagger it over a few weeks to reduce shock.

I think you should definitely add some rock.

Thanks KC.... just added one piece but will wait for another 3 weeks to add more. My fishies and corals are doing well and my parameters are next to perfect. So, all is good.
    Thanks for the comment :)

    Zoanthus sociathus mulicolor not opening

Anybody with experience how long it would take for them to acclimate?
When I purchased them they were open and beautiful... now after 4 days they are still partially closed. I placed them on the sandbed.... is that correct? How much flow do they need?
    Any comments are much appreciated!!!!

yeah id recommend more rock. id go with matts suggestion of adding in one piece at a time to minimize the chance for a 'cycle'. with any live rock the moment it hits air it will cause something on the rock to die and cause nitrite/nitrates to go up a bit, but again should be minimal if you add in one piece or something.

can i suggest you get base rock? you have enough LR in there to "seed" base rock. its cheaper, wont cause you a cycle, and you can add a bunch in at once if you want. i paid $.75-$1.00/lb of base rock in comparison to 4.99-6.99/lb of live rock. in my case i went with 25lbs of live rock and 50lbs of base rock. the base rock after two months is already starting to get covered in stuff and one smaller piece already looks like "live rock".

Ya go base if you can. Its cheaper and easier to add. Some of my zoas took a week or so to fully open, some opened in a hour. So its hard to say. Just give them some time. Maybe try moving them up some.
