That's an adult clownfish. This thing spreads up in all it's glory. It's a monster. Recently killed my sleeper goby.... I think. Goby is gone and this is only thing that could kill and despose of the body.

    Just felt like sharing.

    Hey Ballgame,

Almost too big, like the anemone is getting as large as possible, resulting in increased surface area, an effort to acquire as much light as possible.

How long have you had the anemone?

4-5 months. Got it as a baby. No idea why or how it got this big. It picked that location. Can't be flat on sand bed because ends turn up against the glass.
Since relatively new after a 10 yr break in hobby. Is it bad to be this big? Certainly out growing my tank.

The anemone looks fine, just too large, but anemones are strange strange creatures with the ability to change into unusual shapes and exaggerated sizes.

As long as your lighting is sufficient the anemone is probably fine. With less then sufficient lighting it's common for anemones and some corals to either reach to acquire more light, or spread out to expose as much surface area as possible to the light. Anemones also just get up and move up the glass as well.

As long as the Anemone is staying put and not decreasing in size or exhibiting stubby tentacles it's probably fine.
