    have a purple ribbon, actually 3 of em. 1 thing I would look for: air bubbles. I'm sure you know they don't like air... but they don't like bubbles either. Mine will close for days when the skimmer starts going crazy and puts some micro bubbles in the water... then boom: back to normal. Other than that... just like they all have said: feed it... often. Keep flow up too. That is all I've ever needed. good luck
