So my tank is about 5 months old. I'm starting to see several small anenomies poping up here and there, A kenya tree has sprouted a whole new tree trunk, looks like possibly a million tiny barnicles or something all over the tank, Coraline starting in a lot of areas, and some sort of little green coral hitch hiker that we named shrek just started to grow out of a rock. I have a rock covered with mushrooms. I was about to ask if mushrooms will propagate on their own when yesterday i noticed one started to contort itself into a figure 8. I knew what must be happening and sure enough, By the end of the day there were 2 seperate mushrooms. cool! ;D

    Looks like Aipatasia! :(

    Aipatasia

I got a peppermint shrimp when I had a small outbreak, overnight Aipatasha was completely gone.

Yup they do that, before you know it you will be trying to give those shrooms away. lol. BTW, you might want to get that aipatasia under control before it tries to take over your tank and sting your other corals.

Try the peppermint shrimp, they are only 8.99 at my LFS and worked wonders for me. Otherwise try boiling water that will typically does the job.

I guess ill have to do the boiled water torture. I have a young red coris wrass that will likely eat any shrimp i put in the tank. Thanks for the info.
