    also what do you think about counter sinking some bolts to keep it all together?

    You can't use pressure treated wood. I've heard that from multiple sources.

    Just picked up some Cedar 4x4x8s from Lowes. Is that a good choice? Do I still need to acclimate them to the environment for two weeks? I could not find any non treated wood other than the cedar - they were $20 each...

    Cedar is OK, expensive? Acclimate? Man, just start building. You won't regret it. You also won't be able to bust that stand apart if you ever don't want it anymore.

    is that foam or wood between the tank and the stand? Guessing you need something solid sinde there would be 2 "holes" where there is no "support"?

    You can use an old rug or a nice chunk of used carpet. Solid & 2 holes? Dunno, kinda hard to tell what you mean. :confused:
