My glass is too thick I believe to hold any way... it barely holds the mag float of this size or I totally thought about this. Did you wrap the zip tie completely around the mag float?

so if you hit it on the outer edge with a downwards or upwards force, it doesn't go anywhere? Doesn't loose contact at all?

Guess I need to draw an illustration or rephrase my question as it has nothing to do with the connection of the EC to the magnet but rather the entire assembly itself breaking contact if force is applied to the outer edge (think fulcrum).

Not really saying that at all, but thanks :)

Think of the magnet itself as a fulcrum. If you move the outer edge of the eggcrate, will the magnet loose either a connection at the top or the bottom.

If you push down on the outer edge, does the magnet loose a bit of the connection at the top? If you push up does it loose a bit of connection as the bottom of the magnet?

IME they don't fall but the movement does concern me as it can shift frags around every time.

Basically I am wondering how much force it takes to make it loose a slight connection and dip down a bit. Does that make sense?

a good amount of force. If you have ever used a real magfloat brand magfloat they are very strong. You would have to be doing something verry agressive in your tank for any part of this set up to move at all.
