The dimmer box is just a radio shack plastic project box(they come in different sizes).
I'm using 16 gauge because that's what I had laying around from other hobbies..

I guess I'll stick with 48 as well, then. :)

    Congrats on the progress.

I'm guessing 80deg will suit you well. 60s will be fine if you're hanging them pretty higher over the tank, around 18-20".

14 is pretty big and probably way overkill. I used 18 on all my stuff; RapidLED sells 20 gauge on their site.

48 should be plenty for him. I'm using 60 on a 5' tank (~120 gallons).
    72 is way overkill on a 75.

Will 48 be enough to support SPS?

Absolutely. Evolved is using 60 on his 120 gallon with tons of SPS. I have a 16 LED setup (8 White XP-G with 65* optics, 8 Blue XR-E with 80* optics) on my 29 gallon growing SPS. I recently added 8 more LEDs, but all in actinic supplementation for my personal color preference. 72 LEDs would be way to much! 3 watts doesn't sound like much, but these LEDs are BRIGHT!

I have no idea what specific current value I run mine at. The XR-E dimmer is set to max at 950mA, and the XP-G dimmer is set to max at 1.45A. I probably run the blues (XR-Es) at ~850, and the whites (XP-Gs) at ~1.25A, but those are guesstimates based on the positions of the dimmer knobs. :p
