    now brown algae is growing very fast on my sand is due to new light, please help:(

    well, you'll need to find out where the extra nutrients are coming. I might reduce the photoperiod for a little bit.

    also, be sure you have good flow going throughout the tank.

    ok i will keep light for lesser time and my flow is good but my lfs guy told me that its not a live sand that's why brown algae growing on it.
    my sand is normal one used in fresh water tank is this really due to the sand or i have to change with live one.

    if you have live rock, then your sand will have life - it's not due to the sand imo

    its not that fine, but now that brown algae is slowly vanishing. hope its goes away and don't come back :hehe:

    Oh, ok good then. Yeah fine sand can be an issue.

    So I have to redo my rock work
