In my experience with Goniopora, they are not a light craving LPS. Water quality and flow are more important. In my experience water that is too polished, no phos or nitrates does not favor Goniopora, hence the reason they do so poorly in the low nutrient reef tank. It's not an easy coral especially if it's a wild collected specimen. Try moving it down and getting some Goniopower and feeding it.

Plus one to what cheryl said. The only time I did well with gonipora is when I had a 55 with horrible nutrient export. Plus I fed it everyday but that has been a debatable topic.

Why is there no sand around the base of the coral, flow? If that is the case flow, than that is too much flow. This coral can retract into his skeleton quite a bit.

Your calcium will not be low until it goes under 350. Your number appear fine for Ca/Alk. If the corals stays so retracted you should move it. Think less is more, less light, less flow, give it a try if the coral still stays retracted. Remember Goniopora used to be called a rent-a-coral because hobbyist were only keeping them a live for 4-6 months. For best results with this coral add to an fully established system.

Are your other LPS doing fine?
