The largest wild turkey on record weighed 37 lbs...
They look really big when they puff up and "strut". I like the bronze, they will get fat and not ever be able to fly. I would suggest frying it when you go to cook it! Have you killed a chicken before Cosmo?

yeah, not a huge fan of it, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I have no problem hunting and shooting stuff, just something about whacking a head off and then it still running around is freaky. I'll get it drunk first so it doesn't tense up.

I'd be scared #$%#less of a 150 pound turkey. That thing would be the size of small horse.

Grab it by the shanks and swing it around over your head a few times. This will disorient it. It won't feel anything. I prefer to use a stump and put two nails in it about an inch apart. Stick its head between that to keep it secure before you chop it. I usually used a machete but I guess a butcher knife or axe would work.

I think you should slow your roll on the pets Cosmo!

lol, I'm at a major low point in my life for pets. I used to have a unofficial dog foster/rescue, but had to give that up. I also recently got rid of my cockatoo i was fostering, thank goodness. I'm down to the tank, 2 dogs, a cat, my boys 2 leopard geckos, a roach farm for the geckos and the koi pond. Not much at all compared to my usual brood. But I'm a single dad, and thus don't have time for a life, and plenty for critters.

BTW, called them today, and dropped the chickens, and only got 3 turkeys and just paid for a heat pack.
