You got it, the person i know who is getting them is the Canadian Distributer for Orphek lighting and knows a ton about leds. The color rendition of those pendants is amazing.
I know they are usually built with epileds leds, is yours the same. I'm going to contact the ebay guy thanks.

I was thinking about using 4 50 watt lights 2 white and 2 blue on a 90 gallon verses 2 100 watt lights so I can adjst the colors. Will that be enough light and are the 50w strong enough to get to the bottom? Also do you know if I can use a 100 watt driver to run to 50 watt lights?
    Thanks
    Paul

Lol a 50w or 100w will penetrate tanks 36" deep and bigger. These bigger chips are designed for deep tanks. I would look into getting mixed color chops versus 1 white and 1 blue chip. They will need to be spaced apart and if you have solid color chips you will prob have spotlight effect of color.

That would be enough light but I agree with nc, I think it would spotlight the two different colors. What I'm going to be doing is adding about 15-20 3w LED's in a few colors around my multichip.
As far as running two 50w chips off of one driver, the way it works is in parallel the two chips will split the forward current so if you have two chips that need 36v each at 3.5a you will need a 36v driver that can push 7a(3.5x2chips) the problem is if one of them fails the total 7a will be driven to the other chip most likely burning it out in a matter of seconds. In a series circuit you would need a driver with a forward voltage that is the sum of the forward voltage for the chips and a forward current of only 3.5a because in a series circuit it splits the voltage among them rather than the current.

    You're welcome.

    Dear aallion2008,

    Greetings,

You are getting a big and good reputation on the web on reef sites. I understand you can get a 100w bulb in that are like the Orpheks. If so I would like to order a couple of them.

    60% 18K white ? 30 LEDs

    10% 410nm/chlorophyll A peak ? 5 LEDs

    10% 430nm/chlorophyll A peak ? 5 LEDs

    10% 453nm/chlorophyll B peak ? 5 LEDs

    6% 585nm/coral fluorescence ? 3 LEDs

    2% 660nm/chlorophyll A ? 2 LEDs

    2% 640nm/chlorophyll B ? 2 LEDs

    Thanks

    Paul
