montipora losing color

    I'm not sure you need to go from one extreme to another. Too little light is probably worst than too much in many ways. They are a "moderate" light coral though, if that helps?

    That's kind of low but I don't know if low alk would really cause light corals. Do you carbon dose or run Bio pellets or anything like that?

    i would lay money on the low alk and the no3 being your problem, do a major water change and get your no3 to as close to zero as possible.

    4 t5's 18" under water is not to much light for a sps coral...check it with a par meter.

    do you have a sump? how much lr do you have? what kind of skimmer? dsb? cheato? need some system details to help you...
