    I know this is debatable but.... Do you think I could keep montipora capricornis and smooth encrusting montis?

    According to LA they require the same amount of light as most Lps, or
    "moderate" lighting. If its up high will it be ok?

    I say pick up a small frag and give it a try.Can't hurt and you might be suprised.

    I would look into a local club if your lfs don't carry any cheaper ones.You should be able to get nice sized one for 15-20 bucks.

    I kept a frag of purple monti cap under stock BC14 lights. no problems just when i switched to LEDs it showed its true colors.
