montipora browning

    Please can anyone tell me whats causing my green plating montipora to turn brown ? My perams r spot on. The tank is illuminated with Kessil Leds.The lights have been installed since april r,however the problem has only developed over the last month.anything would help

    what are your phosphates and nitrates. Both of these will cause your sps to turn brown. Sadly they can turn brown fast but take a while to return to color. I would take your water to the LFS and have them test your phosphates in a photometer and then check your nitrates.

    That would be my first guess. If your lights have been on there since April, I doubt it is the lights, as too much light would bleach them out. Have you changed anything in the system. Is the monti getting good flow?
