Mixing Sand with Live Sand

    I went down to another LFS and picked up the 40lbs they had. I'm up to 110lbs now. They are ordering me anohter 100lbs that will be here Wed.

    Sounds like you are well on your way now. Are you rinsing it prior to adding it to the tank? That would be a lot sand to rinse. I used a 5 gallon bucket with a garden hose to rinse my sand. ;D

    I used my sea salt bucket and my RO water to rinse it.

    That is a good way, I think that you are right to use tap water for this though. I did, and I didn't have any diatoms due to it.

    Then i'll stop wasting my RO water for the process, thanks for the tip! I'll get some pics up soon it's not much to see yet haha.

    That is why I mentioned it. I know that your RO water is something like a ratio 1 gallon or RO to 4 gallons of waste water. I don't know if you could use your waste water or not.

    I used 160lbs in my 210g and I only have about a 1-2"sand bed.
