miracle mud: yay or nay?

    my regugium has a free bottle coming with it

    was trying to figure out whether it was worth using or not ....

    also does that help balance ph ?

    put like 2 inches of sand on top of it too!

    Yes get mangroves put then in the mud. I really like mine.

    well my problem is the cpr fuge that light hangs over so theres no room :// i was going with chaeto i was just curious to know if it was a gimmick product

    do you believe your corals benefit from it ?

    Just remember to change half of it out every year, its ok.

    While it may be beneficial it also requires maintenance.The creatures that keep A DSB healthy need to be replenished as their populations wax and wane.Without microfauna mud becomes muck and can easily foul the aquarium.Replacing as Cosmo suggests is a good idea but this too needs to be done carefully.

    see vinnies post, a little of both, It can create a problem, and this can be a danger when you swap stuff out every year, if its too deep it can grow some nasty stuff, that when changed out can crash a tank. If done properly, its prob a good thing, but I had it for a bit and after researching decided the benefits don't outweigh the dangers so I got rid of it and just did a DSB.

    geez i think im just better off with my chaeto? i like looking at chaeto the pods are interesting


    and thats another thing
    have you ever randomly encountered jellyfish magicly appearing in your tank and yes this is a serious question i had a massive overflow of sudden upside down jellyfish that i have no clue where the heck they came from

    I am nay on miracle mud. Never used it but had a few friends and reef club members use it. Definitely not a miracle, no one really noticed any significant change or improvements.

    Yes to the Jelly fish, hopefully one day I will track down why this happens so some tanks. Did you use live rock?
