Should I consider putting a ball valve on my return pump to slow down the flow??? Read on melevs reef webpage that pumps that are strong can create microbubble problems.
    What do y'all think?

If you see micro bubbles coming from the return pipe and don't see any in the return section of your sump, it is probably a small leak in the return pipe as stated before. A small leak can draw air into the pipe like an venturi or if your return pump is submerged, it may occasionally create a vortex in the water and draw in air.

    I would check everything mentioned.

What size is your pump and if you are not having issues with drain / return rates I wouldn't put in the valve until a last resort.

Drain and return rates are perfect.

LFS guy said my baffles are wrong in my sump .....
My water flow is-under, over, under to return pump

LFS says it needs to be over, under, over to return

    Thoughts?

Shouldn't matter really...I only have 2 baffles and no micro bubbles.

Malac, does water travel over or under your first baffle?

I wouldn't think it would make that much difference but it may, no experience on this matter. But every one I have seen is over-under-over. Did you have bubbles in the sump or no? If there aren't any bubbles in the sump the problem lies after this point somewhere.

Over under. My water level is also fairly close to the height of the over so it doesn't have a large water fall which would just make more bubbles.
