    I WAS JUST ABOUT TO START A 80 GALLON REEF TANK I WAS GONNA GET PC LIGHTS. BUT SOME ONE TALKED ME INTO MH LIGHTING I WAS WONDERING IF I SHOULD GET 2 250 WTT MH LIGHTS AND MY CANOPY IS 12INCHES HIGH I WAS WONDERING THIS WILL PROBABLY HEAT UP MY TANK. I HAVE A 2O GALLON REFUGUIM WHEN FULL SO THERE IS MORE WATER VOLUME.DO YOU GUYS THINK IF I THREW SOME FANS IN THERE I CAN GET BY WITH OUT A CHILLER AND IF I NEED A CHILLER IS THERE ANY GOOD ONE'S FOR 300 OR 400!

    OR SHOULD I GO WITH TWO 175 WTT MH IT WILL BE LOWER IN WTTS BUT I CAN ALWAYS UPGRADE!

    you should be ok w 2 250 just make sure the canopy has fans at least two

    The 250's will give you alot more versatility than the 175's and really do not run that much hotter. For the most part every availible coral in the hobby can be kept alive and growing under 250's; not the case with 175's.

    I have one on my hex. They are for nano's only. 15 gallons and below.
